Darver Castle Wedding

The fabulous wedding of Teresa and Fer Daid at Darver Castle.. The day was brimming with joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments, from toasting with champagne to riding in red mustangs, enjoying fantastic entertainment from DJ Magiggs, and ending the night with a surprise fireworks display. It was a whirlwind of excitement and a true honour to be a part of such a special occasion.

This wedding felt like a family event. I have photographed so many relations on both the Doran and Kings and it’s great to catch up with them all. Lisa the mum of the flower girl reminded me that the bridesmaid was her flower girl that I photographed 16 years ago.

Despite the windy weather, this couple fearlessly embraced the storm, seizing the opportunity to capture truly special photographs.

When we arrived at the house that morning Noeleen’s house was calm and relaxed but the atmosphere was filled with so much excitement for the day ahead. Teresa and her beautiful bridesmaids had just finished being beautified by their wonderful glam squad - Makeup Artist Laura McNamee & Hair Stylist’s from Aveen’s Hair Studio in Warrenpoint.

One of the first things we noticed when we entered Teresa’s house that morning was the grand, wooden staircase with a stunning crystal chandelier - I was super excited and immediately was planning how to incorporate this into Teresa’s photographs.

Firstly, I took Teresa upstairs for some shots to get her used to the camera - how dreamy does she look in the veil headshot below?

It was then time to get Teresa, Mum Noeleen & bridesmaids ready. Teresa & Noeleen decided to get ready in one room together whilst the bridesmaids got ready in another - this is always recommend if your house has the rooms as it minimises stress. This setup allows allows the bride and mother of the bride to spend some quality time together and have personal moments before the big day unfolds.

Now all the girls were ready and looking fabulous it was time to capture some photographs of them together. The bridesmaids dresses and Mother of the Bride’s dresses were both from Drumross Designs - they were super elegant with all the gowns featuring a cape.

The girls were ready with plenty of time to get a few pictures together, relax and enjoy a glass of champagne while Teresa waited on her Red Mustang arriving to take her to the chapel.

Over at Fer Daid’s parent’s house the atmosphere was also very relaxed but everyone was super excited and looking forward to the day ahead.

We just love this photograph of Fer Daid and his mum, the reactions and emotions are so genuine and pure - you can tell Mum is genuinely embracing the moment and so happy and proud of her son.

The moment everyone had been waiting for had finally arrived - Teresa arrived at St Mary’s Burren and walked down the aisle to irish traditional music by Patrick Davey & co. It was a beautiful ceremony.

It was finally offical - Teresa & Fer Daid were now husband and wife, as you tell by their faces they could not have been happier!

Once the ceremony was over we got a few family pictures outside the church. Teresa & Fer Daid had the opportunity to mingle with their guests and also get a cup of tea and biscuit from Tullie’s Teapot which was located right outside the Chapel.

Once the Bride and Groom were ready, we then headed to the shore at Warrenpoint to capture some photographs of the two of them whilst the rest of the bridal party and guests headed onto the reception at Darver Castle. It was the most beautiful, sunny day although it was a windy day but this didn’t stop our bride and groom from hopping on that wall to get a beautiful photograph.

Teresa & Fer Daid walked along the shore hand in hand talking, kissing & a few spins along the way - it was super romantic and natural.

After a few photographs of the newly weds we then made our way to the spectular Darver Castle for the wedding reception.

After a few drinks in the wedding reception the guests were all called into the room for their dinner. DJ Magiggs was the meal entertainment which completely elevated the wedding experience - there was live music & captivating performances from the guests which engaged everyone. This was the best surprise to the bride and groom that was organised by Teresa’s sister.

If you are due to be married and still thinking about wedding entertainment definitely check out DJ Magiggs for a fun experience.

DJ Magiggs set the guests a challenge - a table dash photograph which further engaged all the guests. In total for all tables to be photographed their was a 3 minute deadline to make it quick and fun meaning everyone had to be in place for when the bride and groom ran to their table for their photograph. Teresa & Fer Daid’s guests had so much fun with them doing this - they were guests on tables, hanging upside down, pints being cheered, the bride and groom in the air.

The Shelbourne Bakery in Newry made this beautiful four tiered wedding cake -Check out the decorative icing art - elegant and beautiful.

Before the dancing started later that evening we decided to take Teresa and Fer Daid outside for some photographs in Darver Castles ground at nighttime as it is absolutely spectular all light up. They both walked, talked, laughed and Fer Daid even gave Teresa a wee twirl to practice the first dance.

Teresa had also organised a special surprise for her husband - a fireworks display organised by Nemisis Fireworks. For ten minutes the sky was lit up with the most beautiful colours.

Back inside it was time for Teresa & her Dad & Fer Daid & his Mum to share a dance together before they evening started. They danced along to ‘I love her first’ - this was an incredibly emotional moment for all.

The Nooks were the band that played that evening. Having done Teresa’s family members wedding in the pasts I knew these lot were fantastic dancers and up on the dancefloor straight away to the end of the evening and this is exactly what happened. As they got into the dancing Teresa took off the bustle from the dress and exchanged it for a huge bow which was easier for dancing.

A huge thank you to you both for letting us capture your special day - it truly was a pleasure to be a part of such a fun, romantic & perfect day. Looking forward to seeing you both in the future at more family & friend’s weddings. Wishing you all the best xo
