Bellingham Castle Wedding
Wedding Celebrations at Bellingham Castle
Roisin & Cathal met Christmas 2015 in Brubakers, Dundalk - Despite only living two miles from each other all their lives it took them a long time to cross paths. They started dating in January 2016 and got engaged during Covid July 2020. They had always planned to have a winter winter so it would'n’t interrupt Cathal’s Gaelic football sesson.
When I arrived at the house that morning it was extremely calm but full of excitement. Roisin is a very organised person - she wanted no fuss or no stress and she got exactly that. It was calm, chilled out and everything went on time which was perfect for getting plenty of shots around the house and at the Christmas tree.
Highly recommended Makeup Artist Tara Doran created the most elegant makeup for our stunning bride Roisin. She went for a soft and glowy look with a touch of smokey eyeshadow and a perfect winged eyeliner. The Fabulous Trina-Marie Mooney created a low bun up style and added pearls by Aimee Farrell Designs to finish off her look. When both out artists were finished working their magic they had Roisin looking and feeling like a million dollars.
Roisin’s Dad owns two horses at their beautiful home. Roisin is a big horse lover just like her Dad. She would have loved to have got onto the horses for some photographs with her dress but with the winter weather it was just not the right time to do it so we agreed to get the photographs with the horses and the amazing scenery.
Roisin was so well co-ordernated throughout her look with her theme of pearls - Pearls are the ultimate classic and feminine detail, they are a subtle yet beautiful embellishment. She had the most beautiful Jimmy Choo pearl earrings and glossy beige heels with pearl detail. She also added the perfect pearl veil from La Mariee Bridal.
With hair, makeup & accessories in place Roisin slipped into her Couture Jesus Peiro wedding dress. Roisin designed her gown working alongside Maria in La Mariee Bridal. They sent her through the hand sketches to approve and she really did not know how it would turn out until it arrived - She had nothing to worry about it was just perfect for her beautiful elegance.
The beautiful bridesmaids tweaked and fixed Roisin’s dress so that it was sitting picture perfect. The bridesmaids wore elegant green dresses from Lady Pipa with sleek straight hair with added volume & earrings from The Dress House for accessories - They looked absolutely fantastic. The girls finished off their looks with a bouquet made by Fleur n Bloom which included white roses and baby’s-breathe flowers.
Roisin was finally ready and looked incredible. Throughout the morning it was impossible to capture a bad photograph of her wether she was posed or casual - I tortured Roisin all day telling her she should really focus on going into TV and movies. She is so photogenic from every angle.
We also met up with the boys that morning to capture them getting ready. As always with the boys the craic was great and they were so excited for the day ahead. The boys wore classic black and white tuxedo’s from Tux & Tails with our Groom wearing a maroon suede jacket and boutonniere’s by Fleur n Bloom - They looked so regal and handsome.
Cathal’s Mum was super proud of him that morning and made sure he looked perfect for walking down the aisle.
The boy’s to the Church well ahead of time to meet & mingle with their guests as they got them seated for the big day.
It was finally time for Roisin and her bridal party to leave and head to the church - Dad was a true gentleman and great help getting her into the car whilst holding her dress up so it didn’t get dirty.
The girls arrived at St Brigid’s, Kilcurry and were full of excitement. We took a quick few shots of everyone before it was time to walk down the aisle.
Dad was so proud and attentive to Roisin that day - He made sure that Roisin’s dress was held up so she didn’t trip nor would it get dirty. Dad escorted Roisin down the aisle with a great big smile and his heart full of love.
The ceremony was a classic, traditional ceremony with music from The Murphy Family.
Roisin & Cathal were so happy to see each other at the bottom of the aisle. They are very much in love - they kept exchanging loving glances at one another and you just knew they were genuinely happy and ready to start this next chapter of their life together.
Congratulations Mr & Mrs McKenna! Roisin and Cathal’s friends and family were ecstatic for them and couldn’t wait to enjoy celebrating the rest of their special day with them.
After the ceremony and after grabbing a couple of quick shots inside the church with our beautiful newly weds we made our way over to amazing Bellingham Castle. Bellingham Castle is such a fairytale venue for a wedding. There are very few castles where you can have it just to yourself for the day - it is set on the banks of the glistening River and has the most magical feeling - I can see why Roisin and Cathal choose to have their celebrations here.
Once we arrived at Bellingham Castle we photographed the bridal party having a catch up before swopping our bride and groom off for some alone time to capture the most stunning photographs.
As we captured some shoots of our new husband and wife the guests enjoyed a drinks reception with some lovely saxophone music from The Saxophone Lounge.
With so many different areas to use on the grounds of the Castle you are pretty much spoiled for choice - they grounds and the castle itself are breathtaking.
“Yes, you'll be in my heart, from this day on, now and forever more”.
I always love the images down by the water with the castle in the background - it truly shows just how magical and grand this venue is for your wedding.
Not only are the grounds of the castle beautiful but the interior and decor is also spectacular. As this was a winter wedding, the grounds of the castle were decorated with Christmas decorations and fairy lights - everything was so grand.
M&M Cakes By Majella made this grand three tier white cake. It was so simple and beautifully done with a white lace accessory - sometimes less is more.
As the night continued and the sun became to fall we captured some outside shots with the radiant fairy lights - Cathal and Roisin looked perfect standing outside the Castle, they were like a true Prince and Princess.
Sugartown Road provided the evening entertainment and played a variety of songs for everyone to enjoy. From start to finish they had everyone on the floor. Roisin, Cathal and their guests enjoyed dancing the rest of the night away, celebrating their love and had an absolutely fantastic day. The biggest thank you to you both for letting me capture your special day.
Congratulations Roisin & Cathal. I wish you both all the happiness and love in the world, today and always. I look forward to catching up with you both xx
